Help guide the Crisis Care Center Initiative implementation !
The voter-approved Crisis Care Centers Initiative is beginning the program planning phase right now to establishing the national model of a countywide network of five crisis care centers, restore and expand mental health residential treatment beds, and grow the community behavioral health workforce and they want to hear from YOU!
The nine-year levy begins in 2024 and will strengthen the community’s behavioral health system by establishing behavioral health urgent care centers so that those in need will be able to walk in for urgent care without a referral, an ability we now have with the physical health care system. Crisis Care Centers are the most efficient and effective approach to date, promoting a continuity of care in linking 988, mobile crisis teams, and other behavioral health resources to support the recovery of our community members so they can get back to living productive, meaningful lives. King County has hired a planning team, including Kate Baber, Crisis Care Centers Planning Director (kbaber@kingcounty.gov, 206-848-0426), Jennifer Winslow, Crisis Care Centers Deputy Planning Director (jewinslow@kingcounty.gov, 206-263-0599), and Dr. Matt Goldman, MD, MS, Crisis Care Centers Medical Director (mgoldman@kingcounty.gov, 206-477-0375), and they are eager to hear from the community!
