Benu Community Day and Community Mobilization Event

  • Corner of 16th & S. Washington St. Seattle, WA (map)

From the organizers:

As part of our Benu Community Day celebration - on September 7, 2024 from 10 - 11:30AM in the Benu Community Home courtyard, we invite you to join us for a Community Mobilization & Call to Action event focused on supporting Seattle’s unhoused Black male community

This event will also mark the official release of the Benu Community Home Impact Report, a milestone document that showcases the progress we’ve made in serving our community. The Report highlights our ongoing efforts to create meaningful opportunities and calls for increased commitment and action to bridge the racial equity gap in housing.

This event will feature:

  • Remarks from political leaders, community advocates, and other key voices fighting for equity in Seattle’s Black community.

  • A chance to hear from Benu Community Home Guests who have successfully completed our programming and how the work is impacting their lives.

  • FREE Refreshments and copies of the Benu Report for all attendees

During the event hear an overview of the Benu Community Home Impact Report and discuss future plans to address the challenges of housing and homelessness in Seattle.
