Contacto Consulting
Contacto (www.contactoconsulting.com) is a consulting firm that brings together people and organizations to foster equitable communities and belonging. We are committed to elevating and centering the voices of Black, Indigenous and people of color.
Our work is often described in many different ways. These are four areas that most of our work falls within:
Strategic planning and program development, from planning and design to evaluation
Organizational development, including equity and belonging assessment and practices
Communications and community-based social marketing
Community assessment and engagement, both in person and online
Ours is community-centered consulting — “Nothing about me without me” is a guiding principle. For us, capacity building means honoring and shining a light on the strengths that organizations have. We have partnered with tens of organizations, from small agencies to community coalitions and large healthcare providers. They include the Healthy King County Coalition, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, People’s Economy Lab, and Look, Listen and Learn TV. Contacto is a King County certified small contractor and a Washington certified woman- and minority-owned business.
As the Owner and Community Consultant of Contacto, Victoria Garcia Tamayo (she/her/ella) brings over 25 years of working in and with community. Before consulting, she had a varied career in the nonprofit and public sectors. She coproduced the Emmy award winning documentary “¡Sí Se Puede! Connecting Farmworker Communities.” Victoria holds a master’s degree in community development and public policy and a bachelor’s in communications and journalism. She is a proud immigrant and a native Spanish speaker.
